Chair, Consultant Directory

  • Role: Responsible for overseeing the Chapter Consultant Directory Initiative. Annually recruit consultants or consulting organizations to join or renew their advertisement in the NNJ*ASTD. Consultant directory. Promote the directory to NNJ area companies/organizations as a service reference guide to them of potential suppliers of HRD products and services.
  • Experience/Capabilities Needed: Skillful networking; database development/management; influence & communication skills.
  • Time Expected: 4-5 hours per month from Nov-Jan. each year; 2-3 hours per month ongoing.
  • Benefit: Get to know HRD consultants and contacts at NNJ member firms.

Awards Chair

  • Role: Work with VP of Leadership Development to prepare Monthly Award Certificates and plan and execute the end-of-year Volunteer Awards Ceremony.
  • Experience/Capabilities Needed: Good Word skills to edit and print Holiday Party program, brochure, good PowerPoint skills to edit and print certificates, regular Chapter meeting attendance to bring certificates; execute award nomination process in October/November timeframe.
  • Time Expected: 1 hour per month; except October – December – 2 to 3 hours per month.
  • Benefits: Organize the celebration of Chapter volunteers.

Chapter Announcement Manager - Communications Team

  • Role: Coordinator of electronic Chapter announcements, sent the third Tuesday of the month and first Tuesday of the month. Work closely with VP Communications and VP Programming. Needs to know or be willing to learn Constant Contact programming and have excellent editing/proofreading ability.
  • Experience/Capabilities Needed: Excellent writing and editing skills, proficiency in technology use, graphics arts helpful.
  • Time Expected: 2-4 hours per month.
  • Benefits: Support communications for our membership.

Special Interest Groups Message Manager - Communications Team

  • Role: Coordinator of electronic SIG announcements; work closely with Kathy Sherwood, VP of SIGS or SIG committee chair people.
  • Time Expected: 1 hour per month
  • Benefits: Support communications for our membership.

Member Success Spotlight Reporter - Communications Team

  • Role: Interview one member per month and write a brief 300-word profile for our Member Success Spotlight column about that member’s recent business success. The spotlight column will appear on the website and will be updated each month. Needs to be able to work from an interviewing template and write concise and clear copy.
  • Time Expected: 2 – 3 hours per month
  • Benefits: Support communications for our membership.
